My family of 4 visited Ohio to attend a wedding. We booked the Philander House at The Mount Vernon Inn. I absolutely cannot say enough great things about our stay. Our little cottage was immaculate. I don't think I have ever stayed somewhere where it was spotless before. The grounds and garden were beautiful. The breakfast (which is include) was delicious. You ordered and it was cooked to your order. The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.I am looking for a reason to go back just to stay here. We loved it
This was an amazing hotel to stay in. The rooms were cozy and quaint. The garden was freaking amazing. I loved being able to sit outside at one of the tables and just enjoying the view of the flowers and read my book. The hotel was a few minutes walk into downtown and easy to navigate. The breakfast amenities were outstanding!!!! The staff were all friendly and inviting, taking time to show me around the facility and answer all the questions I had regarding an early check out. Small quibble, but the beds were very firm, it is the only thing I found to be a negative to this amazing place.
Delightful place to stay. Clean, comfortable room. Comfortable bed and furniture. Excellent breakfast. My wife has leg issues and we mentioned that a grab bar near the commode would be a great help. They installed one!! Owner and staff were very gracious and accommodating. We stayed there while enjoying the wonderful bike trails in the area. Mt Vernon is a beautiful town with a lot to offer. We will be back.
Beautiful, quiet inn with wonderful service! Met up with a friend for a short overnight stay, and we both wish we could have stayed longer! Enclosed garden area with pathways and tables to sit at, as well as cozy seating inside the main house. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Host was friendly and helpful. Would stay again!
The rooms are so quaint and very clean. The courtyard is beautiful. It’s just like the secret garden. Breakfast was delicious. They have a very nice fruit and pastry bar that you can munch on, then they take your order and make you a hot breakfast. The food was so good and the breakfast room is a gorgeous sun room. The staff was incredibly kind! I highly recommend the MV Inn for any of your visits to Mount Vernon.
My husband and I stayed here while in town for a wedding and absolutely loved it. Privately owned boutique hotel, clean well-maintained, and lovely courtyard. The service was stellar- have never had such personal, caring service at any other stay (and I travel quite a lot). Location was very convenient- just off downtown. Would recommend this place to anyone needing to visit Mt Vernon, and we'll definitely be staying again when we go back for visits!
Everything we stay here is better than the time before! The owner, Kate, is such a kind and thoughtful woman! Most recently we were in town for the funeral of a family member and Kate always asked how we were, what she could do for us and how the service went. The breakfast is divine and always perfect. The location is close to everything! We would recommend this beautiful, historic inn to everyone!
I'm a little sad that I only had a very brief stay at this little inn. The gardens were so beautiful and charming and the breakfast lived up to the hype. The staff was kind and friendly. The bathroom in my room was really small, but the shower was good and the towels were really soft. Even with their old charm they had modern amenities in the rooms. It's really close to the town center and directly across from a gas station. Pricing-wise, they're not much more expensive than the local Comfort Inn, and the experience of staying here is definitely worth the little bit of extra money. I'm glad I got a chance to visit, and I know where I'll be staying if I ever get another reason to travel to Mt. Vernon.
